About HSFA

The Haryana State Fencing Association (HSFA) is the umbrella organization of all District Fencing Associations in Haryana. The HSFA is a registered body under Society Act 2012. HSFA is affiliated with the Fencing Association of India (FAI) and the Haryana Olympic Association, also recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of Haryana as the governing body for the sport of Fencing in Haryana and recognized by. Currently, HSFA has 22 District/Unit Associations as affiliated member units.

As much as practicable, HSFA member District Fencing Associations meet annually in General Assembly/Meeting. The election of Office Bearers and Executive Committee members of the HSFA held during AGM for the ensuing four-year term.

Every year HSFA organizes the State Fencing Championships in all age categories, like Senior (Open), Youth (U-23), junior (U-20), Cadet (U-17), Sub-junior (U-14), Mini (U-12), Children (U-10) and HSFA also sending the teams in said various age categories to participate National championships organized under the auspicious of FAI every year. In coordination with the Haryana Olympic Association and the FAI, the HSFA also hosts other activities to promote and develop the sport of Fencing in Haryana.

The Fencing Association 0f India (FAI) was formed in 1974. However, structured development and competitions were initiated only in the late 1990s. Fencing introduced in Haryana in the 1980s. HSFA has been the host of 1st Junior National fencing championship in 1992 at MNSS Rai, Sonipat, 9th Senior National Fencing Championship in 1997 at karnal Haryana and 23rd Senior National Fencing Championship in 2013 at MDU, Rohtak Haryana.
